June Camp – Fishing

To Become Fishers of Men

While walking by the Sea of Galilee, he saw two brothers, Simon (who is called Peter) and Andrew his brother, casting a net into the sea, for they were fishermen. And he said to them, “Follow me, and I will make you fishers of men.”  – Matthew 4:18-19

Fishing, Catching, Filleting, and Eating

Our campers got all kinds of experiences and lessons on and off the boat this month for camp!

A Day On The Water

We had six boats for our campers. This was the exact amount we needed to have every camper and mentor on a boat all day together.

Learning New Skills

One of the many new skills they learned from our day of fishing was how to bait their own hook with a minnow.

Successful Day

We had a successful day of not just fishing but also catching. We caught a total of 55 fish including crappie and white bass. EVERY camper caught fish – however, I can’t say the same for the mentors.

One Of The Best Parts Of Fishing

After catching the 55 fish, we had a couple of guides teaching how to filet the fish along with cooking. One of the guides taught the young men how to do blackened fish tacos. They were DELICIOUS!!!
